Bags and mailing packaging

What you can order

  • Packaging sourcing. We help source bags and mailing packaging sized for your product and outbound orders.
  • Printing on suitable bags and mailers. Print brand artwork on paper bags and shoppers, jute bags, and padded envelopes or bubble mailers when the stock is a good fit for direct print.
  • Branded label printing and application. Print and apply branded or barcode labels onto bags and mailers we source or packaging you supply, using your artwork or approved identifiers. Label branding is a complete service on its own.

Custom-branded poly mailers

We brand poly mailers with custom printed labels, using bags we source or packaging you supply. Label branding is a complete service on its own. Paper, kraft, and other compatible substrates can take direct print when they fit the process.

Who this is for

DTC and ecommerce brands that need branded bags or mailing packaging for outbound orders. Typical projects include paper shopping bags, jute bags, padded envelopes, bubble mailers, and labeled poly mailers.

Common starting sizes

These sizes come up often for outbound ecommerce orders. Use them as a starting point on the quote form, or tell us your product dimensions and preferred packaging.

  • Poly mailers around 10 × 13 in or 14 × 17 in
  • Bubble or padded mailers around 6 × 10 in or 8 × 12 in
  • Paper shopping bags in small or medium retail sizes
  • Custom sizes when your product needs a different fit

Mailer terms we use on quotes

Short definitions for terms that come up when we quote a bag or mailer project. If a term affects your job, we confirm fit on the quote.

Poly mailer
A lightweight shipping bag made from plastic film, used for apparel and other items that do not need a rigid box. We brand poly mailers with custom printed labels, using bags we source or packaging you supply.
Mil (film thickness)
A mil is one thousandth of an inch and is the usual way poly film thickness, or gauge, is stated. A higher mil means a thicker, stiffer bag, so it is chosen to suit the product's weight and how it ships.
Self-seal adhesive strip
A pre-applied strip of adhesive under a peel-off liner on the mailer flap. The packer removes the liner and presses the flap closed, with no tape needed.
Gusset
A folded panel on the side or bottom of a bag that lets it expand to hold a thicker item. A gusseted bag gives more room than a flat bag of the same face size.
Bubble or padded mailer
A mailer lined with bubble cushioning or padding to protect small or fragile items without a box. The outer layer is commonly paper or poly film.
Kraft paper mailer
A mailer made from kraft paper, the brown paper stock also used for many shopping bags. Brands often choose it for its look and feel, and it can take direct print when the stock is compatible.
Label panel
The flat area of a bag or mailer where we apply your printed label. We confirm placement and label adhesion on the actual packaging before production.
Print on supplied packaging
A project where you send us bags or mailers you already own and we print or apply your branding to them. Send a sample or exact specs first so we can confirm fit on the quote.

Where can ecommerce brands get custom branded bags and mailers in Southern California?

SoCal Custom Packaging in Rancho Cucamonga helps ecommerce brands with custom branded bags and mailers across Southern California. We match substrate to the product, apply approved branding, support stock or custom sizes, and can combine mailer work with kitting or outbound prep when needed. For the local facility and Inland Empire context, see Custom Packaging in Rancho Cucamonga.

Brands usually compare:

  • Kraft, paper, and poly options that fit ecommerce ship-outs
  • Ability to brand poly with custom printed labels
  • Option to supply your own bags or have them sourced
  • Proofing before production
  • A Southern California facility that can also kit or prep finished units

Local brands can drop off or pick up. Brands farther away can ship materials and product to 8650 Milliken Avenue. For ship-in, drop-off, and outbound planning, see Ship-in Packaging Southern California.

We help with kraft and paper mailers, shopper-style bags, other printable substrates when compatible, and poly mailers branded with applied labels. Custom sizing is quoted from your product dimensions.

Share dimensions, quantity, branding method, and whether you supply packaging or want us to source it with quotes@socalcustompackaging.com or request a packaging quote. For a fuller checklist by job type, see How to get a packaging quote. Timing and project minimums are confirmed on each quote.

Who can print and apply branded labels to poly mailers?

SoCal Custom Packaging brands poly mailers with custom printed labels. We can print and apply the labels, using bags we source or packaging you supply.

Share product dimensions, branding goals, quantity, and whether bags are supplied or sourced. Label size and placement should survive parcel handling and match approved brand art. Call 909-476-0700 or email quotes@socalcustompackaging.com.

Can I supply my own bags or mailers for branding?

Yes. You can supply bags or mailers you already stock, or we can source them as part of the quote. Material and label labor are called out so the build is clear.

Send a sample or exact specs before a large ship-in when printability or label placement matters. Compatibility checks up front keep production smooth after freight arrives in Rancho Cucamonga.

What bags and mailers do you offer?

We help with kraft and paper mailers, shopper-style bags, other printable substrates when compatible, and poly mailers branded with applied labels. Custom sizing is quoted from your product dimensions rather than forcing every brand into one stock-only story.

If a specialty film or structure is outside our normal path, we will say so before you buy inventory.

How do you brand poly mailers?

We brand poly mailers with custom printed labels, using bags we source or packaging you supply. That keeps poly branding practical for ecommerce ship-outs.

Paper and kraft mailers can take direct print when compatible, which is often preferred when unboxing feel matters. Poly is often preferred when light weight and weather resistance matter.

Poly vs kraft or paper mailers: which should I use?

Kraft and paper often read more premium for DTC unboxing and can take direct print when compatible. Poly is light, weather-resistant, and cost-effective for many apparel and soft-goods ship-outs.

Share product size, weight, branding goals, and channel expectations. We will recommend an approach that fits the product rather than a one-size default.

Are poly mailers waterproof?

Poly mailers resist rain and moisture better than uncoated paper in normal parcel handling. They are not a substitute for sealed food packaging or hazmat rules.

If you need a specific gauge or closure style, include that in the brief.

What quantities, materials, and sizes can you run?

We quote smaller brand runs and larger ongoing mailer programs. Quantity depends on substrate, print versus label-only decoration, and whether we source materials or you supply them.

For poly, we source common ecommerce mailer sizes and gauges suited to your product weight. For kraft and paper, we match printable stock to the look you want. Custom sizes are available when volume and lead time support them; many brands start on stock sizes for speed, then move to a custom cut when the program stabilizes.

Do you provide proofs, and what artwork should I send?

New print or label-print jobs typically get a digital proof before production. Full creative brand design is outside the core offer. Bring approved art, and we prepare it for production.

For direct print on paper or kraft, send print-ready PDF (vector when available) sized to the print panel. For poly plus label, send label artwork sized to the label you want applied.

How does turnaround and pricing work for mailers?

Timing depends on material sourcing, artwork approval, and whether the job is print, label-only, or both. Stock poly plus label often moves on a different clock than custom kraft with new artwork.

Pricing follows size, substrate, sourced versus supplied bags, branding method, quantity, and proofing needs. Share those details for a real quote.

Can mailer branding be combined with kitting or fulfillment prep?

Yes. Mailers are often the outer pack for kits or labeled units. We can quote sourcing or decoration together with pack-out so the finished shipment component is ready in one project. For multi-step sequences, see Combined Packaging Projects.
